What stood out the most in my playthrough was the gorgeous visuals in a stylized cyberpunk themed city. The Ascent is a cyberpunk themed action role playing game where you fight your way up a megalopolis styled futuristic city. Quality is high all around from it’s presentation, visuals, voice acting and gameplay. I understand Neon Giant outsourced some work but STILL. It’s hard to imagine The Ascent was made by a small Swedish Indie studio of a few men and women. The gameplay videos below are from the Xbox Series X version when it launched on Gamepass last year.
